Tiger TB2 = Trans International Tiger 2TB SATA III 2.5" SSD mounted on OWC Accelsior S PCIe card, installed OWC Helios 2 Thunderbolt 2 Expansion Chassis, and connected to the Thunderbolt 2 port of a 2013 Mac Pro.

LARGE SEQUENTIAL TRANSFER TEST
We used AJA System Test to benchmark file level sequential transfer speed using a 16GB test file (and 4K frame size). RED graph bar means the fastest overall in Megabytes per Second.

SMALL RANDOM TRANSFER TEST
We used a range of 4K to 1024K blocks in the Standard Random test in QuickBench as a predictor boot volume 'house keeping' performance and a simulation of an application that does multiple small random transfers. RED graph bar means the fastest overall in Megabytes per Second.

INSIGHTS
The Tiger is a quantum leap in single SATA III 2.5 inch SSD capacity yet continues to deliver on the speed we have come to expect.

For the Mac Pro tower, mounting the Tiger SSD on a PCIe board is the most direct route for a maximum performing internal SATA III SSD. Plus it provides easy migration to an external PCIe-to-Thunderbolt2 expansion box in the case of the 2013 Mac Pro and other Thunderbolt equipped Macs.

Stay tuned for additional test results for two or more Tiger SSDs striped in RAID 0 mode. Imagine four of them forming a wicked fast 8TB volume. Or eight of them creating a wicked-er, faster 16TB volume.
