Is the NVIDIA RTX 2060 faster than the GTX 1080 Ti?

February 8th - added RTX 2070
I posted on Twitter than the new RTX 2060 GPU is faster than the GTX 1080 Ti. After additional testing, that claim may require some clarification.
GRAPH LEGEND
GTX 1080 Ti = NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
GTX 1080 = NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
RTX 2070 = NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070
RTX 2060 = NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
Test Mule was a 2010 Mac Pro 12-Core 3.33GHz Xeon X5680, 96GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Geekbench CUDA GPU Compute
The CUDA Compute test uses everything from image processing to computer vision to number crunching to test your GPU using relevant and complex challenges. (HIGHER score = FASTER)
DaVinci Resolve 15
This is a looping playback of a 1080p clip (Candle project) with 1x noise reduction added and rendering on the fly. (HIGHER frames per second = FASTER)
Blender 2.8 beta GPU only CUDA Render
We rendered the BMW sample project using CUDA and GPU only. (LOWER Time in Seconds = FASTER)
Rise of Tomb Raider
Using the three phase built-in benchmark, we ran at 2560x1440 resolution and HIGH preset. (HIGHER Frames per Second = FASTER)
Power Draw Comparison
Using NVIDIA's published specifications, here is how the max power requirement compares. (LOWER wattage = BETTER)
Cost Comparison
Using the pricing on the NVIDIA web site, here's how the three GPUs compare. (LOWER price = BETTER)
WHAT WE LEARNED
The RTX 2060 is faster than the GTX 1080 Ti ... in some cases (Geekbench CUDA GPU Compute and DaVinci Resolve looping playback with Noise Reduction). But the GTX 1080 Ti was faster in others (Blender CUDA GPU Render and Rise of Tomb Raider).
The RTX 2070 was faster than the GTX 1080 Ti in all but one test.
The RTX 2060 costs HALF as much as a GTX 1080 Ti. That is an important metric since the GTX 1080 Ti is NOT twice as fast.
The RTX 2060 and 2070 draw less power than the GTX 1080 and 1080 Ti. Anyone who has tried running a 250W GTX 1080 Ti GPU in the Mac Pro tower knows that feeding it enough power is a challenge.
One strange anomaly: The RTX GPUs would not light up the Dell 5K display unless we had our AMD HD 7950 present and connected to the Apple Cinema display. It did, however, allow us to designate the Dell 5K display as primary. There must be a solution but we have not figured it out yet.
We fervently hope that Apple and NVIDIA will come to a meeting of the minds and bring full support of the RTX (and GTX) series of GPUs to macOS Mojave.
